I miei progetti nascono da una idea iniziale che è quella di ritrovare una forte intimità con i luoghi. Queste polaroid sono frutto di un viaggio fisico e mentale attraverso il quale cerco, indagando l'architettura e il paesaggio urbano, di lavorare facendo della ricerca introspettiva.
Così il paesaggio e l'architettura diventano paesaggio interiore.
Sono tutti posti scelti per lavorare sulla suggestione, sull'aspetto segreto che alcuni luoghi custodiscono.
La fotografia per me è reinventare quello che si vede, trasmettendo poi la percezione che ho avuto di quel posto.
Mi piace che la presenza umana si percepisca, ma mai che ci sia direttamente perché quelli ripresi sono luoghi di solitudine.
Amo le atmosfere confuse, ambigue, trovo che aiutino a lavorare d'immaginazione.
Ho progettato queste serie fotografiche lavorando sulla forma e sul concetto di tempo.
Queste immagini potrebbero essere state scattate adesso, come 20 anni fa; non mi va di far vivere una fotografia in un dato tempo storico, ma restituirle una certa occasionalità e atemporalità.
I dettagli diventano dei microcosmi che possono vivere di vita propria e la grandezza sta nelle cose piccole, nascoste, cariche di misteri.
Sono tutte foto scattate con una polaroid perchè genera una copia unica, quindi irriproducibile, e soprattutto non passa da Photoshop.
An interior/intimate landscape
My projects are born from an initial idea of regaining a strong intimacy with places. These polaroids are the fruit of a physical and mental trip through which I try, by inquiring architecture and urban landscape, to work making some introspective research.
This way landscape and architecture do become an interior/intimate landscape.
They are all chosen places where to work on suggestions, on the secret aspect that some landscapes keep.
Photography is for me re-inventing what we see, then transmitting the perception I had of that place.
I like human presence to be felt, but not to be there directly because the places that are taken are places of solitude.
I love confuse, ambiguous atmospheres, I think they help you to work with imagination.
I have projected these photographic series working on the form and concept of time.
These photos could have been taken today as twenty years ago; I don’t want to make a photo live in a specific historical moment, but to give it a certain occasionality and atemporality.
Details become microcosms that can live a life of their own and greatness lies in small, hidden things, full of mysteries. They are all pictures taken with a polaroid because it generates just one copy, therefore irreproducible, and especially it doesn’t pass through Photoshop.
